John, a professional engineer, has over 34 years of experience in managing and resolving complex project management engagements, civil engineering issues, geotechnical concerns, and environmental liabilities. The combination of engineering and business expertise has provided John with the skills to successfully manage each project’s unique technical and business goals and to provide on time value added operations.
John has successfully developed solutions for large scale projects throughout his career by applying his expertise in; project management, engineering and value analysis, design engineering, evaluating technologies, developing remedial strategies, conducting environmental assessments and investigations, developing environmental liability transfer solutions, and economic evaluation of environmental liability alternative solutions. He serves as the development manager for major projects and directs the project management, permitting, engineering and construction oversight of projects from Herndon, Virginia.
John brings decades of project and program experience. His successful management experience includes managing power development, site restoration, CERCLA and RCRA programs in the US; multi-national liability transfer projects in the US, Mexico and Europe. The ability to successfully coordinate and focus large multi-disciplined teams allows John to control schedules and budgets, identify opportunities for savings, avoid errors and omissions, identify and address potential risks (business, environmental and climatic), and focus all efforts on a successful business outcome.
John started his career in Washington, D.C. with Delon Hampton & Associates, moved to Pittsburgh in 1980 and worked for D’Appolonia Consulting Engineers and Remcor through 1995. In 1995, John moved to Reston, Virginia and worked for WSP for nearly 18 years leading the global land restoration and ground engineering practice until 2013. John has been working with the Energy Solutions Team since leaving WSP. John has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degree in Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. John is a licensed professional engineer in more than 20 states including the states in the PJM and NYISO interconnection regions.
